Cost Accountant | Holt, MI

Salary Range: $67,000 - $101,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze production costs, variances, and inventory valuations.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and profitability analyses for management.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes related to cost of goods sold.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and efficiency improvements.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Support month-end close activities related to cost accounting.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and GAAP.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

Bonus Qualifications

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VBA or complex financial modeling.
• SQL querying skills for direct data extraction and analysis.
