Cost Accountant | Fremont, MI

Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability drivers.
• Develop, maintain, and review standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
• Manage inventory valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory counts.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, budget vs. actual analyses, and performance metrics.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for production costs.
• Identify and recommend cost reduction opportunities and process improvements.
• Support month-end close activities related to cost of goods sold and inventory.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of dedicated cost accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and absorption costing principles.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting specific to manufacturing operations.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with specific ERP costing modules (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle Manufacturing).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for enhanced reporting.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Advanced Excel modeling skills, including VBA or Power Query.
